"I joined the 1% for Development Fund because I wanted to know that my contribution really goes to people who need it. The 1% Fund has no overhead, no fund-raising expenses, no cadre of well-heeled managers and salesmen taking their cut. Just colleagues who contribute their time and money to see if they can make a little difference."
Hear what some members have to say:
If you have software to display Microsoft PowerPoint files, click through our September 2013 presentation at the World Health Organization.
If you wish to become a member, simply fill in the form below and check the "Sign up" box; your name and e-mail address will be sent to a member of the Fund's Management Comittee, who will then send information on how to make arrangements with your bank to transfer your contribution to one of the Fund's bank accounts (UBS or PostFinance). After that, if you would like to get directly involved in Fund activities (for example, help the Fund organize promotional activities, evaluate projects or decide how best contributions could be used). Even if you cannot spare the time for committee work throughout the year, you can still participate in the General Assembly, where each member can help make the final decision about projects to be funded and share experience and new ideas.
If you find the 1% Fund's activities interesting, but have questions that need answering before you commit yourself, check the "More information" box, fill in the form and include your questions in the space provided. A member of the Fund will be in touch with the answers. Mention that you would like to attend a General Assembly, and we will send an invitation to the next one. If you are ready to sign up, but still have questions, feel free to check both boxes.
If you cannot commit yourself to full membership but still wish to support our activities, you can make a one-off donation at any time by clicking on the PayPal button at the left or by interbank transfer (mentioning your name and postal or e-mail address) to the Fund's bank account (No. 279-CA100005.0, at UBS, Palais des Nations (UN), 1211 Geneva 10, Switzerland; IBAN: CH54 0027 9279 CA10 0005 0; SWIFT (BIC): UBSWCHZH80A) or postal account (10-227611-4, Association Unpourcent pour le Développement, 1202 Genève [it really is "Unpourcent" as one word]).
As 1% for Development is now registered in Switzerland as a not-for-profit association, memberships or one-off donations may be eligible for tax relief, depending on individual circumstances. Members and donors will receive, on request, attestations of their contributions to the Fund.
Thank you very much for your interest in the 1% for Development Fund!
